Visit Salamanca

With a history rooted deep in nature, Salamanca is a true gem in the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County. Directly off of NYS I-86, Salamanca is the only U.S. city east of the Mississippi River that is located on an Indian Reservation. The Seneca Nation of Indians enriches Salamanca with its unique culture and heritage. A short or extended visit could include a stop at scenic Allegany State Park, one of our gaming facilities – Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel or Seneca Gaming & Entertainment – the Seneca Iroquois National Museum or the Salamanca Rail Museum.

While you’re here, you can also enjoy our events & festivals, sample our cuisine and our variety of year-round outdoor activities. And don’t forget to check out the many other treasures throughout the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County – the other side of New York!
